Munich is such a captivating city in Germany with so much rich history, vibrant culture and picturesque architecture. I spent most of my time exploring the iconic landmarks, such as the magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle and the majestic Nymphenburg Palace. I also enjoyed strolling through the streets of Marienplatz, taking in the sights and sounds of the historic city center. The beer gardens and traditional Bavarian restaurants provided a delightful culinary experience, where I indulged in hearty dishes like bratwurst and sauerkraut (I got weird looks when I tried to make a joke about bratwurst being so good it should be renamed to "bratBEST" - I don't think it translated well to the German language). I couldn't resist visiting the famous Oktoberfest in full traditional attire, immersing myself in the lively atmosphere and enjoying the local brews. The friendly locals made me feel welcome, and I experienced the warm hospitality of Bavaria first hand.

Where is the Oktoberfest celebration? The Oktoberfest main grounds are close to the center of Munich in Theresienwiese (if staying nearby, book hotels far in advance)
What do you wear to Oktoberfest? You can wear whatever you want but you will fit in much better if you come prepared with traditional lederhosen (men) or Dirndl (women). There are shops to purchase authentic traditional attire surrounding the Oktoberfest grounds.
