Traveling to Rome, Italy

Upon arriving in Rome, Italy, I was immediately awestruck by the ancient architecture and rich history of the city. I visited iconic landmarks and marveled at the intricate design and grandeur of the ancient structures. Of course, the food in Italy was the highlight for me and I enjoyed trying out all the delicious pasta dishes and indulging in gelato every chance I got. Such an unforgettable experience.

The must see attractions and things to do in Rome, Italy:


  • Visit the iconic amphitheater and learn about the history of ancient Rome. One of my personal favorite experiences in Rome, they have also started night tours of the dungeons under the colosseum.

  • Explore the ruins of the ancient city center and admire the impressive architecture.

  • Marvel at the impressive dome and learn about the history of this ancient temple. The Pantheon is one of the most preserved ancient Roman structures still existing today.

  • Make a wish and throw a coin into the famous fountain. The Trevi Fountain is another one of my personal favorite sites to visit in Rome with its beautiful sculptures and flowing water.

  • Climb the stairs and enjoy the view from the top. Take amazing photos from every angle of the Spanish steps. There is a beautiful fountain at the base of the stairs.

  • Visit St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican Museums. Fun fact, Vatican City is the smallest country in the world!

  • Take a stroll through the gardens and enjoy the panoramic views of the city. One of the most ancient parts of the city, once occupied by palaces and the houses of the rich.

  • Enjoy the stunning views from the top of the castle and learn about its interesting history as a mausoleum and fortress.

  • Take a break and enjoy a coffee or gelato while admiring the beautiful fountains and baroque architecture. The Piazza was the location of a former stadium which ancient romans would watch "the games".

  • Explore the charming neighborhood of Trastevere and visit the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere.

  • Relax in the park and visit the Borghese Gallery to see works by famous artists such as Bernini and Caravaggio.

  • A classic Italian dessert made with ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, and espresso.

Carbonara

  • A pasta dish made with eggs, bacon, and pecorino cheese.

Saltimbocca alla romana

  • Veal scaloppine cooked with prosciutto and sage.

Cacio e pepe

  • A simple yet delicious pasta dish made with pecorino cheese and black pepper.

Supplė

  • Fried rice balls filled with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and ground meat.
